The question
AI, machines and other tools may expand what people can produce. That does not tell us why a particular result fails to happen. The obstacle could be a physical shortage, cost, a missing skill, an incompatible requirement or a decision to decline the work.
RootKnow asks when better coordination changes the outcome. Our hypothesis is that some useful combinations remain unrealized because independent participants cannot easily discover each other, agree on terms or follow the same plan. We have not established how common that problem is.
Small example
A repair shop needs a replacement part. A designer can prepare it and a workshop has a suitable machine. The work still needs material, an available time and an agreement about quality and payment.
A shared view might reveal a workable route. It might instead reveal that the required material does not exist locally. Those are different findings. The virtual factory case explains how a model can help participants examine a possible production plan.
What we are testing
RealMaker proposes a shared World that connects selected needs, capabilities and commitments. Each participant’s private Node would retain the detail needed to understand its own work and constraints.
We would compare this approach with existing tools and relationships. Does it help participants find a feasible route, agree on responsibilities and deliver the intended result? We would measure time, cost, mistakes and failed commitments, including the effort required to maintain the shared model.
What would change our mind
If serious attempts show that shortages, economics or unwillingness dominate, coordination may be the wrong focus. If ordinary contracting works just as well with less effort, an additional shared layer has not earned its place. A clearer picture of an impossible plan is useful knowledge, but it is not evidence that the plan became possible.
- Name the result
- Check available resources
- Find the actual obstacle
- Compare possible routes
- Measure what happens
