Working note

What makes a stalled plan possible?

A learner has an instructor but nowhere to practice. Access to a workshop could change the plan—if the time, cost and rules also fit.

The question

Can a shared network help people find contributions that make a useful plan feasible? A contribution might be a skill, machine, material, transport route, financing arrangement or permission.

RootKnow’s hypothesis is that a complementary capability can expand the options available to existing participants. This is not a general rule that every new participant creates more value. A contribution may duplicate what is already available, arrive too late or be incompatible with the work.

Small example

A person wants to learn bicycle repair. An instructor is available, but there is nowhere to practice and no access to tools. A workshop that offers an appropriate practice session could change the plan.

The offer only helps if the schedule, cost and workshop rules also fit. The instructor and learner still need to agree. Our AI-to-action case follows this example from advice toward demonstrated capability.

What we are testing

The proposed RealMaker World would make selected needs and contributions visible together. Participants could examine possible combinations and see which conditions remain unresolved. Their private Nodes would help them check whether a proposed contribution is realistic.

We would test whether the network identifies useful combinations that participants otherwise miss. Then we would follow those combinations through actual commitments and execution. An expression of interest is different from an accepted commitment; an accepted commitment is different from a delivered resource.

The important measure is the change in useful, deliverable options for participants. Counting profiles or drawing more lines between them is insufficient.

A buyer, drawing and suitable machine may already exist while an order remains impossible because certification is missing. Adding an inspection provider changes what the existing participants could deliver. That is the network effect we want to examine: a wider set of feasible futures, rather than simply more profiles.

What would change our mind

If most additions provide no useful complement, the proposed network effect may be weak. If promising combinations repeatedly collapse when their real conditions are checked, the model is overstating feasibility. If existing relationships find and deliver the same combinations more cheaply, the network must explain what additional value it provides—or change its approach.

What this question asks us to check
  1. Describe the goal
  2. Map existing contributions
  3. Identify the missing piece
  4. Secure real commitments
  5. Check the delivered result
